1. The agreement and the service

FreeHunt is a service offering map features and GPS tracking, showing the positions of your devices on a map and letting you share them with groups you choose.

When you create an account you enter into an agreement with the company behind FreeHunt on these terms. The agreement is free of charge and lasts until you or we end it. If you buy something, you enter into a separate agreement for that purchase, on our Terms of Purchase.

Contact us at support@freehunt.app.

2. Your account

You must be at least 13 years old to create an account. If you are under 18, a guardian's consent is required for purchases and subscriptions.

Provide accurate information and keep it current. You are responsible for your login and for what happens through your account. Contact us if you suspect someone else is using it.

An account is personal.

3. Devices and your responsibility

Your account owns devices — phones running the app, and trackers. A registered device transmits its position to FreeHunt. The position is stored and shared with the groups you have chosen, until you stop sharing it.

FreeHunt does not know what a device is attached to. A phone may sit in a car; a tracker may be on a dog collar. It is therefore you, the owner, who determines whose or what position is recorded, and you are responsible for that.

This means you:

If you let a device follow another person, you generally become a data controller for the processing of that person's data, with the obligations that follow from data protection law.

Anyone affected by one of your devices may always contact us directly at support@freehunt.app.

4. What FreeHunt does not promise

This section matters. Please read it.

FreeHunt is not safety or rescue equipment and must not be relied on as the sole source of information when something is at stake — for a person, an animal or property.

A position may fail to arrive, be delayed, or be inaccurate. This depends on factors outside our control: mobile coverage, satellite reception, battery, weather, terrain and the condition of the device. No response does not mean the device is stationary.

We work to keep the service available but cannot guarantee uninterrupted operation. Maintenance, updates and disruptions occur. We may change or discontinue features, giving notice in advance where reasonably possible.

Map data comes from third parties and may contain errors or be out of date.

5. Personal data

How we process personal data is described in our privacy policy, which sets out what we process, why, for how long, and what rights you have.

6. If your account is closed

You may close your account at any time at freehunt.app, or by contacting us.

Before the account is closed, you can export your data in a commonly used format.

When the account is closed, your personal data is erased, or anonymised so that it can no longer be linked to you. Exceptions apply to what we are required by law to retain — mainly accounting records, kept for seven years. Anonymised data cannot be restored.

Registered trackers and devices are retained without any link to you, so that the hardware can be used by a new owner.

7. If we suspend or terminate

We may suspend or terminate your access to FreeHunt if you breach these terms, if fees are not paid, if required by law, or if we discontinue the service. We give notice in advance where reasonably possible.

8. Liability

The service is provided as is. We give no guarantee that positions are accurate, complete or delivered in time.

We are not liable for indirect or consequential loss — such as lost profit, lost time or loss of animals or property — arising from the service being unavailable, or from a position failing to arrive, being delayed or being inaccurate.

These limitations do not apply in cases of intent or gross negligence, in cases of personal injury, or where mandatory law provides otherwise. If you are a consumer, your rights under the Swedish Consumer Sales Act or other mandatory consumer legislation are unaffected.

If you use FreeHunt in breach of these terms and someone brings a claim against us as a result, you shall hold us harmless.

9. Intellectual property

FreeHunt — the app, the service, the name and its visual identity — belongs to us. You are granted the right to use the service personally for as long as the agreement is in force. That right cannot be transferred, and it does not mean that anything else changes owner.

What you create in the app is yours: device names, points, areas and the like. For the service to work, we need to be able to store it and display it to you and to the groups you have shared it with. Our right to your content goes no further than that, and it ends when you delete the content or close your account.

The map data comes from Lantmäteriet (the Swedish mapping authority) and other sources, and is subject to their own terms. These are set out in the app under Sources.

10. Force majeure

We are not liable where the service fails or is delayed because of circumstances beyond our control — for example outages at mobile operators, disruption to satellite navigation, power failures, decisions by public authorities, war, natural events or serious attacks on our systems.

11. Changes, governing law and disputes

We may change these terms. For material changes the app shows you the new terms at your next sign-in and asks you to accept them. If you do not accept the change, you are signed out and may close your account.

Swedish law applies. Disputes are settled by the Swedish general courts.

If you are a consumer, you may also turn to the Swedish National Board for Consumer Disputes (arn.se) or bring proceedings in your country of residence.
